Family Get-togethers

This past week Cecilia's had many several family get-togethers. She definitely has some stranger anxiety now, and the first get-together proved that it is in full force. Granted it was the largest and loudest, but she sat "frozen" most of the time. I am not sure if she smiled once all night long, which is not like her at all! As the week went on, she did better and better at each event. And she even tried to steal the spotlight by "singing" (which is just a nice word for squealing with delight) for everyone at the last few. With having so many events the last week, I was able to play around with her stranger anxiety and find out what works. What we have determined is that she definitely needs time to warm up with me holding her before any one tries to hold her, and she warms up much easier if people are not paying alot of attention to her.

Cecilia also turned 9 months old on Friday. I keep forgetting to take those pics, so I will post those and her 9 month update later this week.

Here are some pics of the last week:

Before the first get-together.
Cecilia now loves to sit and pull out all of her toys
.
You can't really tell in the picture, but her lap is full of toys.

The beginning of her frozen-ness!

Chase "bullying" her while trying to get a picture of all four babies born last year.

Cecilia was not enjoying the photo session.

Had to get the paci out to quiet her down,
and we finally got all four of them to sit still!
Chase (9 months), Cecilia (almost 9 months),
Brendan (6 months), Ian (8 months)

The first pic of the two of them now that Brendan can sit up alone.

Enjoying a nice day looking out an open window with Mazie!

This pic was taken right before Cecilia lost her balance and fell over and skinned her chin on a basket! Ouch!
Still enjoying the view!
Brendan had a big growth spurt this last month or so and has now
passed Cecilia in width and is close to catching her in length!
(Sorry I still don't know how to flip the pictures)

Playing with the birthday boy's new toy at his party this afternoon! She only played with it for a few minutes before the birthday boy, my cousin's son Patrick, spotted her with it and understandably wanted it back. It was so cute...he walked in the room and saw her with it, then looked around as if looking for help, and then politely said to me..."Ummmm, that's mine."

Tuckered out and getting a much needed nap on Grammy after the birthday party!
