I was looking forward to things slowing down after the busy summer and having some quiet weekends around the house, but it seems to busier than ever! I don't remember the last time we didn't have something going on over a weekend, and the earliest that might happen is after Thanksgiving! Let's see what we have been up to....getting in a couple more nice weekends at my parents' house on the river, multiple weddings, wedding showers, trick-or-treating at the zoo, a day at the pumpkin patch, a trip to Lex to stay with the O'Dwyers, birthday parties, and lots, lots more!
Cecilia is just flourishing! She is growing and changing so much. She is definitely a little toddler now, and not a baby. She is saying new words all the time. She probably says 30+ words. She can follow instructions; she will go get something you tell her to, if you tell her we are going to eat, brush her teeth, change a diaper, etc... she will go to the appropriate place. One of our favorites is giving hugs; you can ask her for a hug and she will wrap her arms around your neck and lay her head down on your shoulder; it is the sweetest thing! Another cute thing she does right now is saying "thank you." I guess we say it alot to her when she gives us something, especially if it is something she is not supposed to have. So now if she gives us anything, she tells us "thank you." She will even see something she is not suppose to have, go get it, and bring it to us and tell us "thank you."
In the last couple of days, she has learned her first color, and it is purple. I think it is her first one because she thinks it is fun to say. She is still eating and sleeping well. We are in the process of moving from two to one nap a day, which is going to be hard because I usually count on nap time to get a few things done around the house! At this point, we still attempt two naps, but many days she only sleep for one of them. She does rest for the other one though, so I think it helps rejuvenate her a bit and get up a happy little girl.
One of her absolute favorite things continues to be to read books. We read books ALL day long! Sometimes 8-10 in a row! She goes and gets them and brings them to us and says, "book, book" and won't stop until you start reading it.
Out shopping with Chase, and eating graham crackers.
in the background); she figured she'd give Cecilia a try.....
no such luck!
Her favorite were these two sheep. She stood there forever
looking at the two of them.
She had a skirt on with this, but it got taken off at a diaper changing.
