Last week our friends Jenna and Mason came to visit. They live in Lexington and stayed with us Thursday and Friday nights. Thursday night Jenna cooked us a yummy dinner. Friday we got up early (me at 5:40 to get to Panera and back with bagels before Christian had to leave for work and before the babies woke up for the day!), got ready, and were out of the house in time to get to a consignment sale that opened at 9:00. Unfortunately, when we pulled up the place was empty and found out it was rescheduled due to the ice storm. We were SO disappointed! Friday night we babysat Mason, while Jenna went out with some friends, and we also had my family over to celebrate Marilou and Christian's birthdays that were the next day!
We went out to dinner Saturday night to celebrate the big 3-0 for Christian and let Cecilia try drinking out of a straw, and she did it! I was very impressed! She liked playing with it as much as drinking from it, and she did not have good control, so she sucked up much more than she could handle, making a little mess! We also went to lunch Sunday (still celebrating the b-day) and let her practice some more! I think I am going to get her some sippy straw cups this week to let her continue to practice! We also gave her little puff snacks yesterday for the first time. It is so funy to watch her try to get the coordination to grab them, but after a few attempts, she got that down pretty well. Her problem now is figuring out how to get it out of her hand and into her mouth! She gets very excited during the whole process, as she really likes the puffs! I did notice that every attempt with them yesterday and today, she has used her left hand. When she was teeny tiny I thought she favored her left hand, and she found it before her right one too. So it will be interesting to see if the left handedness trend continues!
With Mason, getting ready for bed!
