Lucky Us!

Last week was another crazy week in KY when the Ice Storm of '09 hit us in full force! We had the largest power outage in the state's history, with the second largest being the Windstorm of '08 that was only four months ago! Fortunately, yet again we did not lose power! It sometimes pays to live in a neighborhood with almost no trees! You lose the beauty of them, but you don't have to rake leaves in the fall, and you don't have to worry about falling trees or limbs during storms! Many places are still without power, and it has been almost a week! We feel very blessed and fortunate. However, Christian did have to brave the storm at its worst and go into work around 10:00 three nights last week and worked until about 5:00 in the morning! Whenever there is inclement weather, UPS calls in management to help make sure all the packages get unloaded, loaded, and off to their destinations!

Cecilia has taken a new found interest in Brendan. Last week, she couldn't keep her eyes off of him! She loved watching him play and kept tabs on him most of the day! When she saw him this morning, she got all excited and started kicking her legs and reaching for him in his car seat!

After being snowed/iced in most of the week, Cecilia and made a much needed grocery run yesterday. She sat in the front of the cart for the first time and loved every minute of it! Cecilia usually attracts some attention in the grocery store, and we'll get stopped a few times for people to see/talk to her. But oh my goodness! Yesterday, it was like we were celebrities! People could not get over how cute she was sitting in there all by herself, and honestly neither could I! I smiled at laughed at her most of the trip! She was told, yet again, that she should be the next Gerber baby! I would say we were stopped several times on each aisle by the young and old, men and women; needless to say the trip took us a very long time. It even went about a half hour into nap time, and she left the store in just as good a mood as when we got there!

So much ice our tree bent over!

Look at all that ice!
