CS&C Brady Blog: 6 months old - (mid-Nov to mid-Dec)

Cecilia had her 6 month check-up yesterday morning. She did great as usual, until her shots! She laughed and played with the nurse and the doctor the whole time, and then the time came! I always feel so bad when she gets them, but I know they are for her own good. She weighed in at 15.4 lbs and 25 inches. She is at the 25-50% range for each. She got a great report for everything else as well; she is right on target and still doesn't need the 5 week adjustment for being born early! He suggested introducing a sippy cup in order to start weaning her from a bottle around 9 months! I tried one with her yesterday, and she did really well with it.

Cecilia continues to go to bed around 9:00 p.m. and usually gets up around 7:00 a.m. She still does not nap predictably, which can be frustrating, but her doc says she'll regulate more as she gets older. She has also become the "Queen of Catnaps," which is frustrating as well because she is often not well rested. Otherwise, she continues to be a very happy content baby. She can roll over from belly to back and back to belly, but she doesn't choose to either very often. She reaches and grabs for everything, and then it usually ends up in her mouth. She is sitting up well with only support for a little balance, and if she cooperates and we get her set up just right she can sit up on her own for 10 seconds or so! She likes all solid foods so far, with the exception of cereal. She is getting more and more fun and is really starting to get a fun little personality. She cracks me up all the time!

Cecilia and I drove up to Dayton with my parents last week for Alexandra and Elijah's Christmas program. Alexandra was Mary, and the program really got us in the mood for the holidays! We also had a little pre-Christmas family get together at our house over the weekend.
