Time is a flyin' as usual! Lily is now almost 9 and a half months! She will be 1 before I know it. She had her 9M well check-up this week, and she got a great report! She was only 14.6 lbs and 25.5 inches though. She was 14.9 a few weeks ago (fully dressed), so I thought for sure she'd be more like 15. The doc is fine with it though, however wants us to come back in 6 weeks (instead of the usual 3 months) for a weight check.
Being so little, we are still very much in size 2 diapers. We switched to size 3 at night the other week because of leaks, but then started having leaks with the 3's too (I think they were just too big), so we tried another brand of 2's, and that seems to be working well. She is wearing a pretty solid 6M size in clothes. She can still wear some 3-6 and most 6-9 are still pretty big. She went through a phase (fortunately a short one) where diaper/clothing changes were practically wrestling matches. She was not mad or anything; she was just way to busy to lay still. There were several stime I was afraid she was either going to end up on the floor, or I was going to break her arm or something trying to catch her from falling.
Lily continues to be ALL OVER our house. If it is not something she is supposed to have, she is there! And don't think about just relocating it bc she will find it within minutes! It has to be put up completely out of reach. She seems to be a very determined little girl, and pretty tough! She has completely mastered pulling up anywhere, anyhow! And just this week, she has started "cruising" around the furniture. She is also proving to be quite a little climber (I thought only boys were supposed to climb!;)). She has climbed up a toy, hung from the computer desk trying to climb up it, and climbed onto a box (and fallen off).
Her little personality has really started to shine this month, and it has been really fun. She is much more interactive, and you can really "play" with her now. Her new thing is to shake her head "no" although she doesn't know what it means. She just likes to shake it and laugh. She also went through a short phase where she would scrunch her nose sniff in and out really fast, while smiling. She bounces alot when she is happy, and she reaches for us when she wants to be picked up. She has also become quite vocal this month, babbling away saying mostly "mamamamama" and " brabrabrabra" and then just basic random sounds, that can get quite loud!
She is eating purees pretty well these days and drinking from a sippy cup. We moved up to 3 meals a day this month (or I try to). And she gets finger food usually at at least 2 of those. Most dinners, she has what we are having along with some cut up fruit. But I usually still do a puree too because she is not super efficient at feeding herself.
Her monthly picture was quite difficult this month. It kind of sums up what life is like these days!
